Hampton Wick Infant and Nursery School, in Teddington, London, is a small mixed infant school, with approximately 300 children aged between three and seven and an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report.
The school was expanding to take in three classes per year, rather than two, and the building – originally built in 1964 – needed a comprehensive refurbishment and extension to accommodate the new entry forms.
“Barton Knight Electrical stepped into the electrical sub-contract role at a late stage in the planning,” comments Chris Saville, Site Manager. “We were pleased with the professionalism of their team and the quality of the fit. The project changed in scope and timescales and Barton Knight were flexible in their planning and when needed were able to step up activity to meet tight deadlines.”
Barton Knight Electrical was engaged as sub-contractor to Morgan Sindall to provide the electrical works for this major refurbishment project, which involved the expansion of the school buildings to accommodate three forms rather than two. The school hall and nursery provision were also expanded.
